Hi, We have a sheet family set up with the border drawn with invisible lines. We do not want the border on our prints, but we want to be able to see it on the screen. When I edit the family I can see the lines but when the sheet family is imported and used within a project we can not see the lines, except from when you hover over them with the mouse. How do I get these lines to be visible in the project sheets? We would be grateful for any help!

Invisible lines are used for existing lines that you want to basically delete that Revit has produced for you. Not quite what you are doing though. I see what you're trying to achieve. Personally what I do is I have my template file with reference planes already in place with sheet sizes called out. They don't print and they're visible. Not really the solution you are looking for but maybe it might work for you.

I have found a satisfactory solution to this problem now that enables us to easily turn the borders on and off in the drawing sheets individually. By going in and edit the title block family. In the family editor, select all boundary lines, make sure they are not set to <invisible lines>, witth the lines still selscted go to the Properties. Under Graphics there is a Visible parameter with a tickbox, click in the third (rightmost column) to open the "Associate Family Parameter" dialogue box. Add a new parameter and give it a name (ex. Title Sheet Border), select your group (ex Graphics) and select "Instance", OK three times. Save the Title-block Family. Now load your title block in to a project and create a drawing sheet with the new Title block. Now you should be able to turn the border lines on and off by selecting the title block and go to properties you should have a "Title Sheet Border" parameter with a tick-box to it. Simply untick the box to hide the borders or have it ticked to keep the borders visible. Since it is a Instance parameter this controls the visibility of the borders individually on each sheet. I you guys find this useful as well. Björn

Another option for having views set up to a repeatable grid layout on multiple sheets... 1. Create your grid lines with Detail Lines, and then group them together. 2. Copy the group of lines to all corresponding sheets. 3. Then Hide the group on every sheet. By going into the "Hidden Elements" view you can still move your view's position on the sheet, and see the grid lines that you hid. Also, grouping the lines together, will ensure that editting the grid on one sheet, will update everywhere else. You can't snap, but it gets close.
