ok...after reading tons of info on how to make a deck rail... i finally made the right deck rail profile. but when i make a new rail and go into the properties to add that deck rail profile, i click profile and it doesnt show the profile i just created.... after i created that profile i imported it from the library into the current project ?am i missing something here?the new deck profile is called "Deck Rail Profile with Bottom Board" ... am i supose to put that profile in a special place in the imperial library?

The profile you created when loaded into the project needs to be associated with an object which takes on the shape of the profile. In your case it looks like you wish it to be associated with a handrail. You need to duplicate a handrail and tell that new handrail to use the profile you loaded into the project. Look in the family portion of the project browser to find a handrail and then right click on it to duplicate.Profiles used in object definitions is a common technique in Revit so it is best to gain an understanding of this.
