Okay, I've got a stair that starts at street level (lets just call that 0'-0" ), and ends at a landing 12' above street level. I want to see the whole extent of the stairs in a particular plan view, but it will not show up. I've tried everything i can think of (short of throwing a brick through the screen); pulled the plan region well beyond the stair extents, put the view depth below street level, adjusted the cut plane and top plane well beyond 12' above street level- nothing. All I get is the same dashed in stair above a certain point- Is this something embedded in the stair properties? I've attached an image of what I'm constantly seeing- I've run into this problem before, but it wasn't that big of a problem at the time, but now I need to fix it. Please, help. Thanks. it should, I just tried a test to see and it worked. it shows dn instead of up. try making a set of stairs in a separate empty file and see if you can make it work. I'm not really certain how that decides the dashed lines. I looked in my stair family and couldn't find anything. You might just be able to import the stair family attached to my example and tweak it around to match what you need. It could be buried in your stair family somewhere. Sorry I couldn't be more help to you.

I'm also having no problems here in a clean file... What options do you have set for the arrow display? Perhaps this is causing the issue... Are you using Revit 9.1?

I am also having this problem! The Plan Region has absolutely no effect on my stairs no matter what I do. Any other ideas?

As posted before, it should work. Do you perhaps have another set of stairs above it?

Yes, there is another set of stairs above it. There are 2 separate sets of stairs in my model that are giving me this problem. I'm on Revit Architecture 2010 if that helps.

Plan regions don't work well with single story stairs...
