We would like your input! We want this site to grow increasing helpful to everyone...is there anything we can do to improve Revitcity? Let me give my first suggestion and get everyone's input on it. I as the programming side of this site, would like to make it so that users can enter their own Firms into the system instead of entering them by hand like I am now. However I run into a few road blocks when I think about how to do it... First concern: Users entering their own firms may create false records. Someone might want to give a firm a bad name and sign up with a user saying they are part of that firm and doing inappropriate things. However, I guess this really doesn't offer any less protection that anyone is getting now. Second: When users create a firm, I can automatically make that user the admin of the firms account, so that the user can later go in and edit the firms information such as phone number, address, and more...I can also create the system so that any further users wishing to say they are part of that firm must be authorized by the firm admin. This means that a user will request to be part of the firm, and email will be sent to the firm admin and that person can either confirm or deny the request. This presents yet another problem because the first person that signs up a firm become the admin of the account. I can probably create some system to transfer the admin status at a later date to another user. I'm also thinking of creating a system to allow guest to the site search through the firms by their own zip code allowing them to find firms within a given mile radius to thier location. Guest could then find the firm that uses Revit nearest to them. Your thoughts on all of this, as well as any other suggestions will be appreciated. Post edited on 2004-01-07 17:20:25

Hi Hiroshi, My signature comes up all run together, rather than on separate lines as I entered it - is there a way I can create a signature with more tha one line? Thanks, Karen

Could you possibly add a more specific search function. For example, a search function that would allow you to not only search for specific words in the body of a reply but also in the the heading and the author. A way to search each of these individually would be great. If there is a way to do that could you point me in the right direction? Thanks in advance.
