Is there a way to split an elevation line similarly to splitting a seciton line?  I would just use a section, but I'd like to have it appear as an elevation tag as opposed to a section line.  Thanks.

many times I would have liked this grayd. Particularly when the contours obscure a part of the elevation a fair way from the 'elevation line'.....as far as I know it is not possible. Maybe Revit 10 (with simple canted walls!!)

I noticed this from Mr Spot in my search on this subject:

"Easy. Turn on the crop region in the elevation. Select the crop region then hit one of the split lines to break the elevation into two parts. (4 quiggly lines around the border of the crop region.) Then adjust each crop to the area you want to see. Then select one crop region and you'll notice there is now an arrow in the centre. Drag this to drag each section closer together... HTH."

Ah, thanks rkarch.  I guess I should have been more clear in my original post.  I want to have a jogged elevation plane, changing the plane of reference within the elevation.  I'm pretty sure this is impossible and that I should just use a Section instead.

To confirm, this is currently possible as of Revit 9.1.
