Greetings all, Brand new Revit user and forum member here. I just went thru the Getting Started with revit tutorial that came with my educational license. Went pretty smooth, but there were a few quirky things that I couldn't resolve. Like: 1. My east elevation view was an elevation it was a section looking east thru the building. All other elevations looked ok, but couldn't figure that out. 2. Where is room and area tab on the design bar? the tutorial referred to it a few times, but I couldn't find it for the life of me. Could be right under my nose. I did find the Room tab, though. 3. What's the best way to adjust corners on a curtain wall assembly. I converted 2) vertical planes into a curtain wall and I couldn't get the joint to look correct, it looked like a capital L if you know what I mean. If you want I could attach a file to better explain. Other than that, it went pretty smooth. In addition to being a tech school instructor, I have a 1-man firm I run, which may benenfit from Revit, if I can let go of the AutoCAD way which I've been using for 12 years now. anyway, any tips you could provide would be greatly appreciated. Professor960.

item 1 in your list is beacuse someone turn off all the wall in that view. go to your visibility graphics (VV of VG) and turn the walls back on HTH

Thanks for the reply, but I just checked VG and everything is checked as visible. Any other thoughts?

#2, try right clicking the tab that says "basic" on the very left of the screen. this will pop up other tabs that are hidden. the area tab is probably unclicked. #1 could be your view range. in plan view, right click and select "view properties". scroll down and make sure you have a check in the box marked "crop region" and "crop region visible". click ok. then click on the triangle part of the elevation symbol that is in question. a view range should show up, you can adjust it from there as you need. Framerman you as well are very wise. that did the trick. one check box was cleared for some reason, after I checked it, then clicked on the east elevation triangle, it showed a "picture plane" within the building, alas creating a section instead of an elevation. After I moved it out, the elevation showed up fine. I think the issue came from when I initially laid out the footprint, it wasn't between the elevation tags. Thanks and Stay tuned!
