I was browing the xml file pipesizes.xml and pipekfactors.xml to try and determine how Revit assigned materials for piping since the Settings -> Materials section appears to be architecture only. Though my first contact with Autodesk informed me that they don't recommend modifying the files, this is where I believe we can add materials for piping that are not built-in. As test, I tried editing the file to add grooved fittings and it accepted that. The interesting piece is the pipekfactors file seems to have k-factors for a variety of valves in it. Of course Revit didn't ship with any valves, so now I would love to see how to link that information, for calculatio purposes into Revit. Any input form someone else who has played with this would be much appreciated
