. I recently spent a little time digging into the Keynotes aspect of REVIT 9 and I have to say. Wow ! That was far too easy. Why is everyone not using these? Below is a link to a CADclip on how easily you can put Keynotes to work and gain a ton of time. (right click and 'Save Target As.." to download) I've also included a sample image of what I did with Keynotes.

Thanks for posting this link. What would be even greater is if Autodesk would rename "keynote" to "keyed note" and end decades of this term being improperly used :-(

Agreed ! This would explain why most people simply breeze by the topic becasue 'keynote' doesn't trigger the correct thinking. 'Key Notes' creates a clear mental depiction of 'notes' that are 'keyed'. HELLO ! DG

Does one have to add the information to each item for it to keynote? If you have meticulously a structural plan, made of elements which have properties including a type value that identifies it accurately ("W10x29", do you have to select each element and then assign the keynote? there are a daunting number of (smart?) elements in a building, you have to go in a keynote every one to use keynoting??? (there should be...) Is there a master table of keynotes that can be selected in settings>kenoting that already knows what all the elements are (since almost all revit building components already have plenty of info about themselves? )

Steve, that is a regular Tag (by catagory) not a keynote. And yes it is all built in.
