I created a louvered window closely following Mr. Spot's tutorial Nested and Arrayed Families. Thank you Mr. Spot. Awesome tutorial. Success with the louvered window prompted me to create a door with louvers in it. (for use in an electrical room). When I placed the louvered door it in my project, however.... and went to the 3d view, not all the louvers appeared to be showing up. I looked at it closely in section, and much to my surprise, the entire louver array is tilting away from the door the higher up you go. So thinking that I wasn't careful enough with being exactly vertical when I arrayed the louver within the door I went through the exercise again. Same thing. It looks great when I 3d view it in the family but goes somewhat bezerk when inserted in a floor plan. So far this is what I've been able to figure out: The angled louver incident occurs when I place the louvered door in a different wall than the one that's in the family. The latter is a generic 6 inch wall while I placed it in a 4 7/8" gyp/stud wall (or an exterior wall for that matter). Why would it make a difference what kind of wall I placed it in? Am I going to have to make different louvered door families depending on what wall they get placed in? Surely not. What am I missing? It must be something obvious... but what? I'm totaly lost on this one. Please help. By the way..... the window louver that I initially created is misbehaving too when placed in a wall that's not of the same type as is in the family.

Good idea framerman. Thank you. What format should I use to post? screenshot? jpeg? pdf? Will this thread accept .rfa (?) files?

No need to apologize, framerman. It was I who didn't understand. Well..... here'e the .rfa...... Please take a look at it, if and when you get a chance. Hopefully it won't take up too much of your time. Thank you. p.s. I don't know if it matters..... the Revit version I'm using is 9.1......
