I know the default is all floors cut walls. I have some situations where i would like the walls to cut the floors. is there a way to set this?

would it work if you readjust your floor edit lines to align with the inside of your wall instead of the outside?

yeah that would work but it would be a pain to do that for every wall. it would be nice if i could just make the walls cut.

sorry, maybe I'm not following you. I'm assuming you have your walls and your floor overlapping each other and you want your walls to cut back the floor instead of the floor cutting into the walls. To do this, you would need to adjust your floor which is one entity. You can edit the floor edit lines to the interior face of the wall which is one click per wall or you may be able to tab over the walls and select all of them. you can also offset the lines to a certain distance. I would be curious to see a situation where in real life a wall would be passing through a floor. I'm sure there is, I'm not doubting anything, just curious to see what it is you are trying to do. Maybe if you could post a jpeg of an instance I could see it better and give a more informed answer.

i guess that is what i will have to do. the reason is the building is type II, steel stud and metal joist framing. the floor construcion is metal joist with metal deck and level rock. the steel stud walls attach to the underside of the deck, not the floor joists, so i want the walls to cut the floor to the underside of the deck.
