How can I have posts spaced max. 1200mm (48"Winking and pickets between the posts max. 100 mm (4"Winking regardless of floor height?

You can set all of this in your railing family.  Revisit the tutoria.

Yes, thank you, This will only work on a stair under 11’ high because revit puts in 4 pickets to get to 1150mm under 10’ and the pattern exceeds 4’ on a stair over 11’.  There should be a way of defining post max spacing and pickets between post max spacing and have revit calculate the number required not create a pattern.If the floor height is above 11’ then it requires one more picket to reach the 4’ max. spacing and goes over the 4” min.2 stairs were created with the exact same family and the picket spacing on the 10’ high one is less than 4” and on the stair with the 11’6” floor height the picket spacing is greater than 4”.

Is there a way of creating a pattern so it works on varying floor heights?  Or do you have to create numerous stair families to accomplish this?  Family 1 stair through 8’ family 2 stair through 10’ family 3 stair through 12’ etc.
