every time that i try to place a room tag in my sheet i get an error message that says, "none of the created elements are visible in floor plan: level 3 life safety view. you may want to check the active view, its parameters, and visibility settings, as well as any plan regions and their settings." i checked my visibility settings, but i'm not sure how to check the rest of those things AND i have two other drawings set up the same (i thought) and the room tags work fine. any ideas on what the problem may be?

I'm having this same problem with 2009. But sometimes the tag works and other times I get the same error message. Did you ever get this figured out? Both my Rooms and Areas and checked in visibility settings.

Rooms are 3D objects in Revit and must be placed first before they can be tagged. The room tags like all annotation in Revit is view specific. Be sure you place the rooms into the model and then tag them in the views that you want. You can use different room tag types in different views and they can be customized to display any or all of the room parameters. HTH

In addition to what Tom says, Rooms have to me on under model in VG and the tags have to be on under annotations.

Thank you! Turns out that my View Range / Cut Plane was set above the hight of the room. The rooms I couldn't see had an upper limit of 4' tall. But the rooms I could see had an upper limit of 10'. I didn't adjust them after I made the room and I don't know why the heights vary. Do you know how to set the default room height at a consistent 8' or so?

Yey! It helped me too! changed cut plane from 2000mm to 1200mm fixed. Tags and rooms showed up!
