I always assumed revit would reload/refresh linked files on load up. Is this not true? I'm having some problems where even if i remove the linked file and re-add it, its not showing me the current 'linked file.' Even stuff that has changed in the linked file from a few days back. So is there a setting somewhere that controls refreshing linked files... or is there something I'm not doing to get these files to be current in revit?

I am experiencing the same problem with linked AutoCAD files.  When I open the Revit file, it always says that the path of the linked file cannot be located etc., but the file is still located in the same path.  I tried unload/reload, but it still doesn't work.  Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks.

Have you tried impoting your CAD file into a drafting view and then dropping it into a sheet as opposed to impoting it directly to the sheet. I believe that will fix your problem.

you want to make sure that you link it and not import it.  Make sure you get that check box checked in the import/link dialog box.

Are you sure you are pointing to the same file?

Did someone insert & link the file?

First - it always works... unless you have done something different and I will bet that the file is inserted ... it may be also linked... somewhere else.  Unload the link and see if it goes away in the view.
