Can someone explain to me how to draw the little roof overhang on the right gable end of this video. It is the one extending out of the middle of the wall. Special thanks to DGCAD for the clip. http://www.cadclips.com/downloads/CADCLIP-WINDOW-AND-DOOR-TAGS.wmv

you can make a roof at any time in your drawing. right from opening your template, click roof>roof by footprint. This information I told you is to tell you on your plan that you have, go to your roof level, click roof>roof by footprint, then select lines and draw your roof outline that you are looking for outside and away from the home by, say, approx. 10 feet and make it on the side you want to place it. You would draw 4 lines. 2 long, 2 short. Only have one of the long lines as your "define slope". This will be the edge of your fascia. The other line will be against your house wall. So the distance between the two long lines will be whatever your "overhang" is. Now the 2 short lines, assuming you are wrapping a false roof around and matching an existing, will be at angles to match your little hips that you want to create. Click finish, then open up the elevation view and adjust the elevation of your newly created roof to match the existing. Reference planes are your best friends so use as many as you want. If you understand most of what I was getting at, you don't really have to make it away from your house. One line can go on your house, one line where you want the fascia, and the two short guys connecting the two. HTH
