I am attempting to do a 2x2 lay-in ceiling, the only choices offered in the pull down is a 2x4 or gyp, there is also no Load Button.  Editing the 2x4 to be a 2x2 is futile too.  Shouldn't there be a standard 2x2 and/or a way to Load new ceiling types?

 Thank you.

you can make what ever grid you want, just make sure it is a model line hatch and not drafting, that way you will be able to align the grid.

start with the grid ceiling you have --> duplicate it

under the properties click on the Structure button-->under the material click on the right side of the text, an arrow will come that will take you to "material"

duplicate the material for your grid, call it what ever.

on the right pane, under surface pattern, click the arrow, the "fil pattern dialogue" appears, make sure you are in "Model"

click New and create your pattern 2x 2 name it and finish.

hope this is clear Smile

Thanks,

I tried what you said, but was not able to open the Materials button, instead it let me alter the Finishes, to a box where I was able to select a 2x2 alternative, maybe that's what you were refering to?

It produced the same result.

I think Revit still should offer a few more alternatives "outof the box" Sad

Still don't understand why not able to have an option to Load either.

Thanks again  Smile

I don't know if this is related to this issue. I am having trouble seeing a 2 x 2 ACT grid in perspective. I cannot see the lines demarcating the ceiling. I can see them when I change it to a 2 x 4 ACT ceiling. I tried creating a new material by duplicating the 2 x 4 ACT material and changed the model hatch pattern to a 2 x 2 and I still had the same problem. Is there something I'm not doing to the material? Please advise.

Thank you!
