I've got something strange happening and I don't know if it is REVIT or if something is corrupted on my machine.

To test the problem, I have a wall type with masonry & gyp on furring.  I have placed one wall from floor line to 4' high and one wall from floor line to 5' high.

When I set my cutting plane to 3' AFF with a top clip set to the floor at 10' above and both the bottom clip & view depth set to the finish floor, only the 5' high wall shows in section.  I worked the bottom clip & range downward at -1" intervals below the floor and finally at -12", the 4' wall showed in section.

What the devil is going on here?  The cutting plane should determine what shows and it was cutting both walls somewhere between their top & bottom.

I was having similar problems with elevations yesterday when I was adjusting the depth of the view.  Items that should have shown were not appearing until I had the far clipping plane set to 20' beyond their location.

Has anyone experienced anything like this?

trying to duplicate it but without success...

i have 2 walls 1 at 2000 and the other at 1500, cut plane set to 1600 above floor and i can see the first wall in section and only the outline of the second as it should be.

regarding elevations, i had an opposite problem, components where showing even though the cut plane was pass them, a disable toilet, it turns out that the section was cutting through the circulation part of the family and even though the circulation wasn't showing.

if you cut any part of the family it will show up.

not much help but maybe someone else?

Just a thought...do they print like that? Sometimes the graphics card produces on screen problems that do not translate to the printed product.

I've confirmed that the problem is not on my machine by checking it on another.

Since Eldados could not recreate it, I wonder if it is a problem that is in my build.  We are on 9.1 but not the latest build because our IT has not updated since the initial 9.1 release.

Looks like I have to address this with our IT guy.

Thanks for your help.

I am having a similar issue in Revit Architecture 2008.  Two walls that  are the same type showing completely differently.  One looks as if it is either not cut or in a Coarse detail view, while the other is completely fine.  See attached image.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Since my first post on this, I've learned some things but as of yet, don't have any hard and fast rules.  Play around with your view range.  It's not just where your cut pane is but also the bottom of the range.
