Two questions actually, any help wouold be appreciated! i am taking a civil engineering and architecture class in school, and although I am getting to know the program a little better, I have come across two things that I would like to know how to do. 1.) How can you change the color of furniture? I know how to change wall and ceiling and roof colors, etc. but I don't know how to change furniture to colors that I want. 2.) How can I get pictures and put them into my building (ex. on a big TV in the house or as a picture on a wall)? Thanks for the help! -luke

With changing the colour of furniture, click on the furniture and Edit Family. Click the part of the furniture you need to change and go to properties. Under Materials & Finishes you will be able change the colours and render textures. Sorry not 100% sure about the image on a TV.

I assume you are talking about rendered views and not shaded views? 1. If your furniture is created well it will have parameters for its materials that can just be edited in the project much like changing the properties of walls. If not created well, then you'll need to go in and edit the family, select the individual solids and set their materials in their properties as suggested by Macca. Preferably if I was doing this I'd add parameters for the materials during this process so you don't have this issue again. The other possible circumstance is if the furniture item has been created via an imported dwg... In this case go to your settings-->object styles and imports tab, there you'll see a list of the layers of the dwg and a column for material. Adjust the materials in this column to set the materials as required. 2. These are set using decals. Decals just require a flat face to apply themselves to. They are accessible from your modelling tab. Note, decals do not display in a shaded view, only when rendered. If you need them to show in a normal shaded view that you'll have to import images which typically has a negative effect on your file size if you don't resize your images first. Typically jpg and png's should be kept below 100KB in size when importing into revit. HTH.
