Hi all!!! New to the group here, and I have been using Revit for about 50 hours now. (man i'm a newbie, ya go ahead poke fun)... any way on to my question: Is there a way to create this or are the all ready created trapaziod/triangle windows? I have Looked all over for them and can't find anything. I haven't had much time to try and customize an existing window file. Any help you'all have would be great!!! Thanks!!! Matthew

Welcome to Revit. If you can't find it here at RevitCity downloads, you will more than likely have to make one in the family editor. It should be relatively easy for a trapezoid or triangle, I assume you have only one pane of glass? Go to File>New>Family then pick the window family. It has already been set up for you, just no window. Most of the time I use extrusions and sweeps to make this. Extrusion for the pane of glass and sweep for the frame. Find a simple fixed window that came with revit and do a reverse engineer on it. Thats a good way to learn. Also, check out dgcad.com. Very good video tutorials and some are free. Others you have to pay a very low fee for. It's a good value.

There are already trapazoidal and triangular windows create also. Simply click Load Family, then pick the Web Library button. Navigate the web library and download the special windows. HTH.

I checked out the WEB library and couldn't find the specialty window you were talking about. Is it in the 2008 library?

Hey, I'm jumpin on the bandwagon here but... I tried making the windows and tried "reverse engineering" them. I sortof made a trapezoid window. However, the glass isn't transparent and when I change leg heights, my angles get all messed up (the lines of the angle are not parallel). There is a triangle window model on this site but it is saved in a version higher than mine. Could someone please help me? I am using Revit 7. Thanks. Chris
