Does anyone know if once you have done a detail in a job or section, is there anyway of saving it to be used in another job, like creating blocks in autocad, can you do it in Revit, does anyone know, and if so, what is the easiest way to do it.

 thankyou

You can save a view in 9.0/9.1. Go to File>Save to Library>Save View. It will only save 2D elements. None of the 3D model will be saved.

Or, you can create a detail component family.  Then you can load that detail family into individual projects or import it into the default template so that the detail is loaded into every project if it's something that you are going to use a lot (ie: stair details, etc)

File > New > Family  choose detail component from the template choices.

You fell victim to one of the classic blunders. The most famous is never get involved in a land war in asia, but only slightly less well known is this! Never go in against a Sicilian when death is on the line!
