the only way that I can make a roof is hipped. How do I make it gabled with only two sloping sides?

Roofs are easy.... well, once you figure them out. I think the key is to make sure you create your sketch correctly. Once that is complete and everything connects then you need to fix the slopes. Play with an easy rectanular house for awhile changing the slopes for the different edges. You'll get it soon and then you will say... ahhh, how come I didn't figure that out earlier. Have fun.

While in sketch mode. You will need to determine which lines will define the slope. The default are that all line define the slopes thus the hip roof. Once you select a line (in sketch mode) you have the option to uncheck the slope definition on your tool bar. Uncheck the lines that you want for your gabled ends.
