I have a question regarding cutting a radial array model group :  I’ve made an in-place ceiling family (a single wood piece of a wood grille for a ceiling) and arrayed it radially for a circular lecture hall.  I need to cut the edges of the arrayed objects and have tried 1) cutting geometry of the array with a void  2) ungrouping the array and cutting the individual in-place families with a void and 3) placing a shaft over the ceiling to cut the unwanted edges of the pieces.  None of these seem to work, and I can't find a similar thread / problem on RevitCity (apologies if I've missed it).

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance for your help, and happy new year.

Rather create it as a separate family import it and array it. When you come to the pieces that you want to cut simply edit those cut it inside the family rename re import it to the project and replace that piece with the edited one. It will be you quickest way of doing this.

Oh and happy new year to you too. Smile

I second Elmo's method.  Arraying imported families ALWAYS works better than arraying a group of components.

You fell victim to one of the classic blunders. The most famous is never get involved in a land war in asia, but only slightly less well known is this! Never go in against a Sicilian when death is on the line!
