Is there a way to make the line ends squared off instead of rounded? I have a thick line to represent the ground and it looks stupid with rounded ends.

unfortunately there are no ways of squaring off lines in revit. hold on, why are you using thick lines when you can use filled region instead?

- If you want to change the lineweight of walls, windows, etc -- you can go to Settings menu>Object Styles...
- If you want to change lineweights of Detail lines -- go to Settings menu>Line Styles...
- If you want to change the width of Line Weights -- go to Settings menu>Line Weights...(but I don't recommend changing this. Just accept all default values. Otherwise you need to change all Line Weights settings of all machines in your office)
Hope this helps

Line weights in elevation and section have been on the wishlist for a long time - it would be nice if there was a view range for these views where one could set line weights according to distance from the cut. Apart from changing the object styles as thebigbrowncat suggested, you could use the lineweight tool and override certain lines to get the look you are after.

Extend the thick line past the edge of the crop region.

If you have a Topo then you will not need a filled region. If you use the filld region tool you will need to add it to every elevation and section. If you do it more than once odds are there is a quicker way.
