HI....SO HERES MY NEWEST ISSUE... IM MAKING AREA PLAN AND AREA SCHEDULES. I WANT A GRAND TOTAL OF THE WHOLE HOUSE BUT WHEN ITS SET TO ROUND UP IT DOESNT ACTUALLY EQUAL WHAT IS SHOWN.... FOR EXAMPLE i HAVE THREE AREAS THAT ARE 369, 826, 945 (ROUNDED TO THE NEAREST 1) AND THE GRAND TOTAL IS 2144...BUT ACTUALLY THESE 3 NUMBERS ADD UP TO 2143. iM JUST WONDERING IF THERES SOME SORT OF OVERRIDE FOR THE GRANDTOTALS TO ADD UP WHAT IS SHOWN INSTEAD OF ROUNDING UP THE DECIMAL NUMBER THAT IT ACTUALLY IS. CUZ IN ALL REALITY, IF THESE PLANS ARE PUT OUT WITH THIS SCHEDULE PEOPLE ARE GOING TO THINK WE CANT ADD! ANY ADVICE WOULD BE GREAT, OTHERIWSE IM HANDWRITING IT! (WHICH I DONT WANT TO DO JUST IN CASEW THERES CHANGES MADE AND I FORGET TO FIX IT)

I think I have a fix for you. Go into the schedule properties. In the Fields tab click 'Calculated Value'. Name it whatever you like 'Area2' for instance. Make sure formula is selected. The Discipline is Common, and Type is Area. In the Formula box type Area. Under the Formatting tab select your new parameter. Check the Hidden Field box. Click the Field Format button. Here you will uncheck the 'Use Project Settings' Then set up whatever settings you like. Now use this field to calculate your gross area. Sounds easy. I hope that works for you. Please let me know.

That almost helped, but the problem is is that its rounding the grand total number based the total of each areas non-rounded totals. for example.... 930.1 + 940.8 + 75.5 = 1946.4 when rounded as 930 + 941 + 76 = 1947, but the grandtotal is basing its rounding on 1946.4 and rounding down to 1946. We're off by one foot. My fix is to fiddle with the area boundary lines to get one of the areas down a smigen to make the grand total correct. It's kind of silly and I'm curious why others havent had this same issue.

In your Grand Total parameter finish your formula with '+.5'. This will add half a SF to your total, and get the answer you want in the schedule.
