Hi....so for some reason when im trying to place area boundaries the line shows up 7/16" off from the face of the core. why is it doing this? i have the setting at the core layer. HELP PLEASE!

Would have to look at your area settings to know for sure, but the easiest method would be to draw the boundary lines instead of using the pick tool...

Thanks... This is the only way I could think of this avoid the problem too! Sad bummer!

If you attach a screenshot of your settings-->Room & Area Settings

 

as well as the properties for the structure of one of the walls you are picking I may be able to help more...

Well, Ive messed with it so much sending you something might not be helpful at this point. But what I did was draw the lines without apllied area rules and locked the lines to my slab (slab on grade foundation). This was the quickest and most efficient way to draw the area. This way if i move a wall the slab will move so the area lines will move as well. I still have no idea why the dumb lines do not snap to the core. It is set at "Wall Core Layer". Does that not mean the face of the core. Does that mean 7/16" away from the core? Puh
