i have a front porch addition in phase 1 and a future mother-in-law apartment addition in phase 2. my main model has the design options for each addition set up to their proper phase and it works fine. i'm trying to get a linked site model to behave the same way. however, the topo surface shows a hole where the future pads will go??? how do i get the topo to show only phase 1?

What I usually do is before you put any pads into the existing topo is to copy<paste align<same place. Do this in proposed phase. Then tab through till you find the existing topo and demolish it. You should have left a proposed topo to do all further work with.
