Has anyone using systems had to draw high pressure flat oval duct or will it be part of the next version of systems. Oval is pretty much what we use on all of our projects and so far I have not seen any way to draw it. thanks

Looks like this is still an issue with Revit MEP 2009, hasn't anyone worked on a building where they had existing oval ductwork? How would you deal with a project like this?

Hello, I have customers that are using rectangular duct to mimic the size of flat oval duct so that it is detected when doing interference detection. They have created a custom duct size label that appears that displays the size the way they would display the size of an oval duct, if they had them. This is an issue in Revit MEP 2010 as well.

riddle me Jill. What is the point of the oval duct is to fit more into a small space? how is a rectangle going to help to take up space? Not to mention that they would be unable to return accurate duct flows since the dynamics are different.

Not a perfect fit, that I will certainly agree! But, it gives them roughly the space allocation they need for their oval ducts when doing interference detection which is what they were most concerned about. How do you represent oval ducts in Revit, Eddie?

I have created an api tool that works nicely, they I have added the calculations into schedules so that I can calc the flow and pressure drop.
