Can anyone recommend a program that will export rvt files to pdf files to a correct scale? I've tried pdf995 and a few others and even when I set the correct scale and paper size for A3 they always come out too small. I've tried exporting dwf files as well and have the same problems.

Glenn

You don't need to export rvt files to pdf - just print whichever sheets you require and select adobe pdf as your printer - set up page sizes etc as per normal.

I think that it requires the PRO version of the ADOBE READER/ WRITER to do so, but I'm not sure, as I've always have had the PRO version installed.

there are about a billion threads on PDF's.

Check them out: http://www.revitcity.com/forums.php?action=search&keywords=pdf%20program

I find the DWF writer unreliable compared to PDF's.  I'd love to have more confidence in it, but it seems whenever i want to use it, it crashes.  Especially when attempting to do large multipage DWF's.

Thanks for your advice Mr Spot your tips are always helpful. I actually found a great pdf converter on the CD of the latest issue of PC AUTHORITY magazine at my local newsagent yesterday. It's called PDFCreator and took 2 minutes to install and worked perfectly straight away. It's good to solve a long time niggling problem like that in one simple step. I would recommend anyone with pdf export problems to go out and get the magazine and you won't regret. I do find it a bit difficult being up North of Brisbane here in Charters Towers but love using REVIT 99% of the time. I've used REVIT since Release 4.5 and get ill at the thought of doing any work for someone in Autocad by itself. I think I'd rather go mow lawns in the hot sun than use Autocad ever again.

"i think"  dwf really shines with vector lines but pdf prolly better for raster..

if you want to send someone your sheets to look over - dwf  makes

that easier..  hot topics pdf and dwf..

This will allow Vista users to view DWF files without requiring additional software."  lol lol lol  and all the while i thought my horse was more reliable..
