I am working on a roof finish schedule for 6 unit condominium project. I would like to group the the rooms by unit in the schedule. I have the rooms first sorted by room number, and then want them grouped by unit number. I have created a parameter "unit #" and assigned numbers 1-6 to the variouse rooms (ased on the unit #). When I go to sorting/grouping and select the "unit #" parameter and select the heading check box, it adds the heading above each room. Any suggestions on how to get the schedule to group by unit? Another approach I took was to simply spit the schedule at the break between each unit. The problem with this is that when you spit the schedule, it adds the column headings to the top of each split schedule. Is there a way to split a schedule and only have the column headings appear on the first part of the schedule. Any help or suggestions on how to over come this problem would be great.

I think you want to sort/group first by unit # and then by room #. Always start the sort /group with the major grouping then go into the minor groupings. It is also good database practice to make sure that your fields you are grouping on appear in the schedule in the same order as the grouping order. HTH

Assuming that I have all of the rooms in unit 1 clustered together in the schedule, and all of the rooms in unit 2 clustered together, and so on; how do I make a horizontal break in the schedule inbetween the rooms in unit 1 and rooms in unit 2? example: Unit 1 room 1 room 2 Unit 2 room 1 room 2 Unit 3...

Revit while a database lacks some of the reporting features of other databases. Probably the closest you are going to get is something like the attached image.

" if you just want a blank line between items on your Sorting/Grouping Tab just check the box that says Blank line if want a Title then put a check in the box that says Header, if you want area for each division then put a check in the box that says footer and set to Totals only.
