I understand beams need either a column or bearing wall. I created a suspended ceiling grid using the beam family template. Can I change the properties of the "beam" I created so it can connect to a non-bearing wall? My reasoning is that the grid will be supported by hanger wires, not a bearing wall. So I don't want to label my walls bearing if they really don't need to be. Or, is there another family template better suited for what I need? The only tutorial I found for family templates was the one that shows how to create a truss family using the structural beam template. I'd appreciate any tips or advice. Thanks! - Elisa
