I am trying to show a typical floor legend ont eh floor finish sheet of a set. I created a new legend, but when I drop in the proper legend component (my floor type), I only get a section view.  I can fake it by drawing a rectangle and hatching it manually, but is thre a better way?

Looks like floors can only have their section appear on legend views.

For doing the fake floor plan, just do a "filled region" and choose to use a line style for the borders that allows you to skip "drawing" a rectangle first.

Thanks for the tip on the filled region line style, I never would have thought of that.

One thing I am struggling with is that you do not seem to have the same set of options for filled patterns in the filled region option as in the floor surface pattern.  Is this somehting that you need to manually create?

illed Region styles like most things in Revit can be duplicated and then assigned a model or drafting pattern.  There is also the option of transparent or opaque along with fill pattern color.  The options are almost endless so if you don't have a filled regions style you like experiment away!
