I’m creating an as build model for a barn we’re working on. I want to re-create the wall as built. It basically 2 x 4 construction with 4” clap on the outside, a layer of barn boards on top of the stud layer. There is nothing on the inside, so you’re looking at the exposed studs, which is something we want to see when the project is completed. I want to build the wall as is, so I can see the studs on the inside. I played around with the reveal tool, but I can only get it to reveal along the length of the wall and not vertically. My reveals just cut a hunk out of the wall in the horizontal plane and I need then to go in the other direction and be 20” O.C etc. I sure I’m missing something very simple. Thanks in advance.

Next to the type selector are the vertical/ horizontal buttons. Pick on the vertical button to make the reveals go in the vertical direction.

MrBobI need to do this in the wall definition (properties of the wall), not in the model. I was aware of the vertical/horizontal buttons in the reveal tool. Thanks for trying........

well, I don'y know if this will help you, but once I tried making a wall using the structural floor framing system. You make your "floor" depth the height of your wall studs. I went into the family editor and created a new wall the height of the "studs" and imported it into my project. At least that gave me the studs without a whole bunch of modeling. Actually being able to model studs, plates, headers, sills, etc in walls would be really nice of Revit to do. Is it built into Revit structure?

Quiller - - have you ever found a way to place a vertical reveal in the assembly editor? I was told on AUGI that it is not possible. Just wondering if you had any insight.

Sorry but as far as I know, vertical reveals can only be placed after the wall is placed. But you could have a wall already setup with multiple verticals placed and you copy that wall around. Almoast as good....
