One of my students has built a two level house. Both levels, 1st floor and 2nd floor are created with 8" generic walls. He went to convert them to brick over stud and when he did, the upper level coverted....and recessed about half a wall thickness. I checked to see that the generic wall was "facing out" and of course it was, otherwise the brick wouldn't have been visible anyhow, but yes, the wall actually recessed for some reason. We tried the align option to no avail. Any ideas please?

Check the location line If you drew the first level with the location line set at exterior face and then the second floor as wall centerline. This could be your problem check it out.
