do they get input from architects and how we work??? and if they do, what kind of architects are they??? cookie cutters that only do things the way they've "always done it" or do they get input from people who actually like to challenge themselves and their buildings in design??? does revit know that commerical architecture is not residential architecture...???
the most simple things make me think no.... we should be able to "dock" the properties dialog box... why can't i input a specific width for an opening, using the opening tool??? why does it take an extra effort to create a flat roof??? dealing with curves, relative to openings and overhangs and straight walls is ridiculous... you have to go through brain damage for the simplest, most common design concepts.. like an auditorium...
how do we/can we make our claims to the parties responsible??? how is autodesk/revit being responsive to "how we work..." wishlist items...
in architecture, establishing a smooth workflow is just as productive as an automatic door schedule... and you constantly have to stop, at least i do, and wonder how revit wants you to accomplish a task, then try to accomplish it... and i'm not a slug, i learn software, usually very quickly, and i'm able to do what i need to do in revit, but i know i can be even more efficient and get more out of our designs, but i'm being held back by the software...
like, why can't you do accurate modeling in a 3D view... it makes no sense, you shouldn't have to set up a 2d view to accomplish tasks in 3d... revit isn't a true BIM program... you simply model 3-dimensionally from 2-dimension drawings and it understands how all those things are relative to each other... you can't let loose and create your model, you have to constantly create views and that's crap... why do i have to set up cameras to work in awkward angles... you should be able to zoom INSIDE a space and work 3-dimensionally...
i think i'm done...
