I have a storefront style curtain wall in the front of a building. For some reason Revit will only let you put 2 kinds of doors that are actualy system panels. I need a door that looks differant. So, I made these custom door panels and they fit in the curtainwall and look graet. The only problem is that they are not showing up in the Door Schedule. Has anyone tackeled this problem already? Does anybody have a good idea for getting the storefront doors in my schedule?
I do have a good idea for faking it, but really only want to use that idea as a last resort.
Thanks as always

No responces in almost a week. Does this mean that no one else has ever experianced this problem? Or, does it mean that no one knows how to fix it. Even a response that says 'I have no idea' would be better that not. LOL. Really. Any ideas on how to get around this issue would be greatly appreciated.

I guess you didn't use the curtain wall door template and instead used the normal curtain panel template... The CW door template has been modified to allow the panel to schedule as a door. From memory i don't believe you can make it schedule as a door without cutting and pasting the geometry into the correct template.
Curtain panels are different from all other family categories meaning they can't easily be switch from one category to another.

Thanks everyone.
I rebuilt my door using the Door - Curtain Wall template. I didn't see that one the first time. It did work. I learned how to make the swing in plan view and to use the visiblity properties to show only the swing in plan view. It does show up in the schedule, and in the near future I'll upload it for everyone else to use. The only problem that I am having with it now is in the Legend Components. It comes in as a square. The door in the model measures 6' wide and 7' tall. In the Legend it measures 7' wide and 7' tall, or 6' wide and 6' tall. What gives? Time is running out for this project, and it might just have to be wrong in the legend, if I can't figure it out.
Thanks again for all the help.

i had a similar thing happen to me in the legend...i just drew the door in 2D elevation for the legend. it wasnt worth the effort to figure it out. it took 2 minutes to draw the door in 2-D.

Ya. It took about a minute to redraw that door. I used the pick arrow when doing detail lines. Then erased the original and moved the ends in 6" each. Thanks that will make my legend look a lot better.
Does anyone know more about why this would happen (square doors in Legend). I am still curious why and how to fix it right in the future.

I use the method of replacing the curtain panel where the door is going to be with a wall. Select the panel and change it to a wall type (yes it is possible!). Once you have a "wall" in place of the curtain panel, then simply insert any regular Revit door. I use a frameless version for this situation as I want the mullions of the curtain system as my frame.
Your door will then show up on a legend view as it is a true door. The curtain door families are panel replacements that schedule as doors, but since they are fully parametric in width and height don't repond to "types" of a fixed dimension like regular doors do. The reason you see them as square on a legend view is that that is the elevation view of the family they are based on. (open up a curtain door family and take a look)
