i created a wall type with 9" brick core and 0.5" th plaster on both sides i.e total 10" thick wall when i created a niche family from a generic wall based family by cut geometry with void tool and inserted into that 10" wall, the plaster layer does not wrap itself on the cut in plan and section i checked with wrap at ends and wrap at inserts both i am confused plz help

Wrap at inserts only works on inserts that use an opening rather than a void... Best bet would be to model the finishes parametrically within the niche family.

did u mean over the column also that means i have to model it in columnfamily but how will u remove the joint line? as it won't do with joint geometry also when i click save while working in a file revit creates 2-3 backup file at the same place is there any setting where i can reduce the number Post edited on 2006-09-11 21:21:24

That's correct join geometry will not work in this circumstance. You'd either have to put up with it or model small bits of plasterboard wall separately, as well as a plasterboard floors... Will be a nightmare to change though. I'd put up with the lines and use the linework tool to remove them where they are an issue. HTH.
