Lets say you wanted to show a client 3 different furniture layouts in a banquet hall. How would you do this so that you could have 3 schemes at the same time? As it is now, if you create a new view of an area, and add components, those components also show up in related views. Basically is there a way to have one view and then turn different layouts of furniture on and off???

Phases should work but there may be better ways.
I use phases to keep presentation items off my working drawings.

you could do it with phases but it would be better using the design option.
if you can't see the design option bar on the top, just right click on an empty space on the top bar and choose design option from the list...

Design options are great. Under your tools pulldown, create a new design option set and however many options you need to show your client. Then take your furniture plan view and duplicate it for however many options you need. Then for each view, go to your view properties and you should have a new tab called design options, set each view to a different design option. Then you simply edit your options and place your furniture. I find that its easiest to set up the options and the views before I start actually editing options. Then each option has a dedicated view. You can then drag each of those views to your sheet and print them out. A couple of our clients have really appreciated being able to see multiple options all on one sheet.
