I recently downloaded a column model from RC, and placed it in my project. But I don't like the way it looks. Can I adjust the position of the features on the column (i.e. move a certain feature up or down) or adjust the thickness of it? I'd appreciate any help.
Thanks

Yes, you can. Have a look at the image. You have to open the .rfa-file with the column and select the column and click the Edit button.
Now you can make changes.
The parts that are dimensioned and have got a parmeter
is a little more diffucult to change.
Perhaps easiest is to delete them and then change them
and dimension them again and give them a parameter.
In a new reply I will send a .pdf-file with a tutorial on how to do a new family.
I hope you understand a little more after completing it.
This tutorial I made yesterday and I hope it soon can be find among the other tutorials on RevitCity. You are the first one to test it!

Here is the tutorial. I hope you like it. If it is something you find hard to understand.
You are welcome to comment on it.

Some more tips!
If you know what dimensions you want to have on the column in the project(the .rvt-file)
You can do it a little easier.
You can in the project file go to Modelling > Create and choose Column
Then you click Solid and choose Revolve
Now you can do click Set Work Plane
and choose Pick a Plane and Pick some wall - you have to have a wall first...
Now you can draw an Axis
and then choose Line and make a profile of the column
and some Lines to make it a closed path
Then Finish Sketch - Finish Family
And you have your column!!! you can copy it....
You can instead use the .rfa-file you downloaded from Revitcity and perhaps change the name of it before you begin.
Open the .rfa-file in Revit
Select the column - Click the Edit button and you can see Axes, closed profile
Now you can delete the dimensioned paramtric parts
And begin to do your own profile.
Save it
And in the .rvt-file go to Modelling > Component - click the Load button and load the .rfa-file

Of all the tips you gave me, this one helped me the most! Thanks a lot.

EDIT: ok, so apparently...this board doesn't support Vb code. Oh well.
