I have had some weird problems like this before. For me it was a curved wall. Any way that I tried to edit it I recieved an error that told me to save the model as a new name before continuing. At the same time that I recieved the error the wall would return to its original state. I tried two things that I think together did the trick. First I offset a copy of the wall, so that I wouldn't lose the doors and windows in it. Then I flipped the wall with the little blue flip arrows. For some reason when I flipped it, it allowed me to delete the original wall. Then, I just offset the copy back into the original location. Maybe a similar series of steps will help you get past this stuburn opening. Or just delete it and draw a new one. ArchWestCY

thanks, i'll see what's going on... it seems strange that the opening would be relative to the baseline of the wall... yeah, to get past it for now, i just deleted it and made a new one... it also seems strange that you can't edit the width of the opening in the properties, but you can edit the height...
