Am trying to learn revit 8.1 and have become stuck when trying to add a floor. I have a 2 storey house and it is the first floor, 300mm timber - revit has a generic 300mm floor which im using. However I select the walls of the first floor (they do not sit exactly over ground floor walls) and when I finish the sketch I get the error message 'Constant-height-defining lines must be parallel' I change everything I can find in the properties but I just cant seem to get rid of this message. Im totally stuck, does anyone know the property setting I have wrong so I can add a simple floor??

Have you first defined the level at which you want the floor to be at? For exampleif your floor is at Level 1 - go to the floor plan of this level and then either select walls or sketch lines to draw the floor. .

Tried that but it doesnt seem to work. I just cannot get rid of this message. Does anyone know what it actually means?? I am at a loss.

I would attach the file but all my revit files seem to be massive (9mb with not much in the drawing).
