if you can save it as a dwg, dgn or acis... but it won't retain any parametric properties, it will come as a one solid model

RAM steel model can be used in revit structure, but the model has to be created in Revit Structure first, then exported to RAM. RAM will design the members, and then the RAM model can be read back into Revit Structure. I'm not able to get all the members from Revit to RAM. For instance, the bracing I model in Revit does not read into RAM. But, the columns and beams translate correctly. Haven't tried foundations, yet.

Keep in mind that Bentley owns RAM Sys. and they are the ones that are designing the link betweent the two programs and not Autodesk. At this point in time, RAM is probably the closest to a two way street between a structural bim program and an analysis program (though RAM is more than that.) There are some issues with the link, but if the model was done in Revit first, they do have a prety good link up. However, Autodesk is aquiring Robobat, the makers of Robot Millennium, out of France. Since this is going to be Autodesk's software, I see them spending a lot of time and money to make this the best possible choice for a link between Revit Structures and an external analysis program. It is current available for download from Robobat's website. As fo the option not showing under the tools menu, I would check to see if you have the latest link from RAM. You should be able to download from their web site. Then just load it into Revit Structures. (should come with directions) Hope this was helpful, Brett

To get the link to show in the external tools you may need to edit the Revit.ini file. Open this file and check that the ECName#, ECClassName#, ECAssembly#, and ECDescription# are unique. You may have to renumber them to the next available number. Also, check the ECCount = #. You may have to increase this number as well.
