Hello all, I thought this forum was dedicated specifically to Tips and Trcks ? What's happened ? It's becoming diluted with general REVIT questions and open discussion. And some pretty beginner questions, at that. As I understand it a Tip is sharing proven information with others. Think about all the Tips and Tricks articles you have read ? Now, are you posting a Tip or a question. A sample Tip starts with "I learned that if you click........" A Tip does Not start with "How do you....." (that is a question not a tip, even if the answer is valuable. Otherwise it's all considered tips and defeats the purpose of this forum) All questions, in my opinion belong in the General Discussion forum. It's a question not a tip. I used to come here to both Post and Vew REVIT Tips and Tricks. It was a great place where you could get the tips at a glance, but now you have to sift through all these basic REVIT questions that have nothing to do with posting a tip. To me, getting an answer to your question is not classified as posting a tip. It's asking a question and waiting for an answer. It now appears that certain people just choose to use this forum as a side door to the the General discussion forum. Everyone wants a short cut right. Seriously, there are enough good general discussion forums / sites out there, can we not preserve this for sharing the good stuff !! If you have a question please post it in the General Discussion Forum where it belongs. If you actuall in fact have a Tip or proven information you would like to share then please post it here. That is what it is designed for. Make sense ? Am I alone on this ? Or does anyone really care.? (I can see it now..... the next posting after this will be " How come my Grid lines show up in one view but not in others ?) I can just see this great Tips forum slowly slipping into the obis and thought I'd give it a shot and put in my 50 cents. revitrocks! DG

I agree fully. I just posted a pretty basic question in Technical Issues (not general discussion). Hopefully this is acceptable. cm
