I need to have my elevations of a house, have lineweights that are grey when the objects are a certain distance behind my elevation lines. I know how to turn off the far clip and I am using that. An example would be if you were drawing the elevation by hand and there was a dormer in the backround you wanted to greyed out because it did touch front or main part of the drawing. I would very much appreciate any help on this topic Philip

For distant objects, I set my elevation depth deep enough to see the objects, then I trace them with the appropriate lineweight and then reset the depth so the elements don't show, just my light lines.

i aproach the section/elevation linweight for dept option differently than using the line work (altough i still use it at times.) i have attaced a pdf with a small tutorail on how i do it. there are 2 small problems with the way i do it. (basically using multible section) but i'v sent them to autodesk in a wish list to be fixed. i would appriciate your thoughts on this as i know its a big problem for a lot of people and the tool that we are all looking for (screening by distance) is not in 9.1 or is not in development fo version 10 or so im lead to believe.
