I would like to study the Solar Gain in Section. Yet the window is blocking the light. Is there a way to edit my family so the glazing is more translucent. Or should I just erase the window for now.

in the rendering design bar there is an 'daylights' option. you can use this to select windows or transparent surfaces that will allow light to pass through...i know that this option works in a render but not sure about the section.
