With a project that's been finalized for awhile, I went back to change the exterior wall style. The wall originally had the following patio door in place, but after I changed the wall style I get the following error message.
"Can't make type "Andersen_FWO506860611_15-lite_1738 : 60611 INSWING"."
I've tried copy, create similar, and reinserting, but nothing works.
Original wall had a 3/4" thick sheating layer. I duplicated the wall and all I did was remove the sheathing.
Any thoughts,
Thanks in Advance

I would open the door family and try stretching the width of the wall in the family file to make sure that the door stretches properly.

Although going into the family to stretch the wall is an option I'm not sure if that'll solve your problem. If it does please let me know. I'd like to find that out.
What I would suggest is that once you change the wall (you'll get the error), go ahead and delete the door and replace it with a new one. The door will still be loaded into the project and stay there until you purge all the unused items in the project.
Hope that helps.

we use a door family in our office that can be put into a 90mm wall but not a 70mm door. That particular family we have to modify the frame width. Maybe something similar.

All of our standard door families are designed to fit any wall thickness.

Yea. If you notice. When you draw a 4" wide window frame in a 6" wide wall, the frame wil be centered in the wall. Now if you change that wall to an 8" wide wall.....it'll still show the window in the center of the wall.
I've never tried it. But I would wager to guess that if you create a new window family and draw the center of the frame offset from the center of the wall. When you change walls it'll keep the offset.

We add a named reference plane to the interior face of wall... then we Edit Work Plane of the modelled objects so that they move with the reference plane we setup. That way our windows are always flush with the interior face of wall no matter how thick the wall is.
