Hi,
I'm not sure if that's the right forum to post my questions. But I just found out about this site and spend the whole weekend browsing through the forums. Great people here...let me know if I should post somewhere else. thanks.
anyways, I'm going to relocate from US to UK (Manchester) in about 6 months. I'm going to look for a job there. But I would like to see if there's any people here from UK that can help me out with my questions.
How's the job market there? What kind of salary/benefits should I expect in general? Will I have a tough time finding one?
To give you some background info, I have about 6 years of working experience in different architectural firms in US. Very experienced Autocad skills. Just started on Revit...Worked on different types of projects (residential, commercial, school, high rise, etc).
Any comments or help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!!

Try asking your questions on www.AUGI.com as-well since I know there are alot of English Architects that frequent there.

Hi Jaris,
I work in Birmingham, UK and I'm a assoc. director of a successful medium sized practise. www.srdarchitects.com. If you fancy relocating to Birmingham instead of Manchester (100miles south and a far bigger and better city, arguably of course) and you're Autocad skills are as good s you say we'd offer you a job for around 23-25,000. I'm learning Revit with the intention of starting to implement it into the office but generally we are a microstation and Autocad LT practise.
Drop me a line if you fancy a chat. But in terms of work there is a severe severe shortage of staff at the moment so you shouldn't have any worries of finding a job at all. If you go direct, not through an agency you'll earn more. good luck.
