I've been messing with the rendering features in revit, and cannot seem to determine whether Revit will do what I need. I'm trying to render an INTERIOR view (3D perspective) with the EXTERIOR lighting (the sun) shining through the windows. I simply want to see through the windows to whatever time of day is set in a solar study. All the scenes just show the openings as black, as if it is midnight outside, but it does this even in the afternoon. I'd like to render a scene in the summer, at about "late-dusk" where the sky is very blue and dark, but where the ambient sunlight still in the air a little bit, not fully dark outside. Revit asks if you're wanting to render an interior or exterior view, so does this mean, that even if your view shows windows, you only get interior or exterior, not both? Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a bunch!

i think you have to designate the windows in question as daylight sources by using the daylight tool located on the rendering design bar. haven't done much rendering yet. hope this helps HTH
