I created a bare timber (pole) from a structural column rft. I had complete success on the first one. The second, though, only portions of the pole loaded into the project. All the materials are the same. I created both using only Solid Blends. It looks fine in the family edito.
Any suggestions

Everything is coming into the project, pieces are just inside each other when you load the family into a project.
If you look at properties of the pieces and parts that make up your "log" in the family editor, one is associated to the first floor level and the others are not associated with any work plane. This is the piece that is going to give you the most trouble. pieces were created on the second level of the family. I recommend you start over and associate everything with the first level. Dissociating that one piece won't undo the problems. It still wants to have goofy start and end dimensions that don't play well when loaded into the project.
When you create the blends, under blend properties, set the work plane for each to first floor reference so they will all have the same point of reference when you load them into a project.
