Can anyone tell me how to recess my lighting into the ceiling more, it is sticking down into the room.

You can edit the .rfa-file with the lightning. You will find the file in the Metric or Imperial Library under Revit propably under Documents and settings. Or have a search for .rfa-files.
After having edit the file you have to go to Basic > Components and click the Load-button and let Revit update the lamps you already have placed in the ceiling.
An alternative are to try to cheat a bit. Move the ceiling with the lamps up a bit.
Then make one more ceiling on the right height... Fast and easy,... Have a try...
