I'm trying to figure out if it is possible to create a solid geometrical shape that doesn't just go up and down like a standard "solid extrusion." I'd like to be able to create solid geometry that can be edited in elevation as well, just like editing the profile of a wall. A good example would be this: I'd like to make some diagonal exterior wood trim for the exterior elevations of a small house. I can create a solid extrusion but that just gives me a vertical object. I'd like to look at it in elevation and edit it that way, but Revit prompts me to open a plan view to edit the extrusion. Maybe there is a better way to do something so simple. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a bunch!

Hey JT,
Im not too sure exactly what youre meaning, but you can make extrusions so their profile is drawin in elevation by manipulating the work plane of the extrusion to a vertical plane rather than a horizontal one (default planes tend to be horizontal).
Else if it needs to be a little more complex, you could pair the extrusion drawn in plan with a void extrusion drawn in elevation - but voids tend to be best used only when there is no other way.
