I was wondering if anyone knows how to be able to set up families to load like the dimensional lumber does. On the bottom of the load window there is a list of the different sizes of the lumber and you select the individual size to load. This would be useful for doors or windows so that the browser doesn't become full of all the different sizes of the family. I'm running 8.1 just in case that's necsisary info.

I can't remember the name that they give the files but if you go to windows explorer then search your families folder or the metric/imperial families folder you will see besides each family there is a notepad file. This is where you set up the type catalogue. It has to be the same name as the family. Have a look through one of the files and copy it.

Go to Revit help and type in Creating a Type Catalog. It will tell you how to do this.
